Hae a Dram Freens – Fiona Tassell

I was born and brought up in Keith.  I have always spoken Doric and English, but I love Doric because it is so descriptive. We must keep using our Doric language or we will lose the nuances of the words. If you look up bosie in the dictionary it translates as hug or cuddle, but it’s so much more than that. It makes me think of my mum, and evokes feelings of love, warmth, safety and home.  Bosie is my favourite Doric word, and there is no equivalent word for it in English.
