Doric TV presenter has walked the path up to Slains Castle for over 20 years in awe and wonder of this mysterious ruin. I’m not a historian, rather a person who works with images taking photographs and videos and using my great imagination to ‘ponder awhile ‘ and sook in the atmosphere and wonder what went on in this magnificent building over the centuries and who lived here! From the Earls of Erroll who came originally from Perthshire they provided much history over the centuries they lived in the castle. Visited by Bothwell and Johnston, Winston Churchill and Bram Stoker, writer of the Dracula novel and many thousands of visitors over the decades. This ruin will always be one of the most fascinating ruins in North East Scotland. Thanks go to James Duncan of Cruden Bay who took the images by air and provided a new perspective of Slains Castle and my journey to document it. Thank you James. Jill
