The Peterhead Prison Museum Story featuring Alex. Geddes
One of the North East of Scotland’s top visitor attractions is The Peterhead Prison Museum. Alex Geddes the man behind the museum talks about the history of the prison and the idea of creating a museum. An interesting piece of history is that the prisoners in years gone by quarried the granite at Stirling hill quarry which went onto make Peterhead’s break water. Johnny Rominski a noteable ‘safe cracker’ was given leave from Peterhead Prison to serve in the war years.
