The importance of videoing oral history to document not only how the Doric language is spoken, but also on how we look. Bessie is a perfect example of how the Doric dialect is still live and kicking. In April this year , 2020, Bessie will reach her 100th Birthday. I have had the pleasure of interviewing Bessie on a few occasions and thanks to her mindful nature, her memory is as “sharp as a tack”.
